The Band

Russ Bergeron

Guitar, Lead Singer

Russ Bergeron grew up playing trumpet in the school band, drums in high school bands and the guitar in college. Played in numerous bands as a guitar player and lead singer. Won the battle of bands in Portland and opened for Deep Purple. Has played in various locations and clubs on the west coast. In later years has spent his time working on the craft of songwriting, performing original music and producing music. His most recent work can be found on Spotify and Apple Music, with the band Moonlight.  

Eric Schilling

Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Backup Vocals

Eric Schilling who plays bass guitar, keyboards and does backup vocals has had a storied musical career in the west coast market. He started at a young age playing guitar with a local rock band called Darksyde. After working with musicians in High Voltage, he was a founding member of Hot Water who culminated into a local favorite named “The Brats” playing bass guitar and keyboards. They ended up being a part of the KGON local record release artists. After that, with a modified lineup, they formed the group Snake Eyes. Eric played bass guitar in his church for many years before joining Moonlight. 

Chris Sheik

Drums, Backup Vocals

Chris has been playing drums professionally in and around the Portland area since the late 1970s. Prior to that, Chris studied under one of Portland’s premier Country drummers & teachers Dick Allen. Chris’s first working gig was with the “Jim Beatty Jazz Band” in the mid 1980s. Beatty claims in his autobiographical book STILL RAMBLIN’ that he “saved Chris from Rock & Roll” when he hired him after seeing Chris play a gig with one of the several rock bands he bounced around with during the 80s & 90s.

Other bands that Chris has played in and recorded with prior to joining Moonlight include Big Blind, Walkie Talkie, and Zoom City.

Brad Blyth

Guitar, Backup Vocals

Guitarist Bradley Blyth is the newest member of Moonlight, joining the band in 2024. Like many, Bradley’s musical journey started on February 9, 1964, when at age 5, he was mesmerized by the Beatles performance on the Ed Sullivan show. Bradley was a founding member of Portland bands Blue Up and Sixfinger. Highlights of his musical career include headlining the Crystal Ballroom, multiple appearances at the Lake Oswego Festival of the Arts, playing the Providence Hospital Bridge Pedal for 3 consecutive years, which entailed blasting downriver from the peak of the Fremont Bridge as hundreds of cyclists zoomed by and waived, and joining Moonlight! Bradley is also solo artist who has written and recorded 15 solo albums, which are available on Spotify, Apple Music and all major streaming services.
